


SUNLAND-TUJUNGA FORWARD ARTS INTERNSHIP
About the internship position:
The intern will attend two all day, in-person events, held in June (Foothills Pride), and October (Tuxuunga Indigenous Peoples Day). Our intern will learn the range of arts events planning, from site preparation to risk management, from artist selection to program curation; they will also create promotional and informational material, interface with volunteers and organizations, and they will be tasked with finding and coordinating one workshop for Indigenous Peoples Day, ideally in the realm of Indigenous cuisine and/or food preparation. Students from marginalized groups are encouraged to apply.This position will start June 1st 2026, and will range from 15-20 hours a week through December 1st 2026. The intern will work approximately 400 hours. The internship is supported by the Los Angeles County Arts Internship Program.
Qualifications:
Experience in the performing arts (music, dance, theater, spoken word, etc) or visual arts (painting, sculpture, photography, digital arts, etc) is preferred, as is a passion for arts activism, cultural diversity, and transformative action. Preferred: A drivers license, and some practical knowledge of local freeways. Skills in creating social media posts, video editing, event organizing, effective written communication, graphic design, organization. Knowledge of software/web applications such as Adobe Suite, Google Drive, video and photo software, and DAW audio software. Experience in community/classroom activism. Experience in creating promotional materials and writing informational documents, proofreading, letter writing.

All intern candidates must meet the requirements below:
- Able to legally work within the United States.
- Are residents of Los Angeles County attending college outside of the region and/or currently attend college in Los Angeles County.
- Be currently enrolled as undergraduates, including students enrolled in associate degree (community college) programs.
- Students who are on track to complete their undergraduate degree, or transfer from a community college to a four-year institution between May 1 - December 1, 2026, are also eligible.
The following students are not eligible:
- Students who have already earned a Bachelor of the Arts, Bachelor of Science, or a higher degree
- High school students who are co-enrolled in college classes
- Students who have previously participated in the LA County Arts Internship Program
